Living in a nowhere town, Red Jane dreams of Paris, and Leo promises to take her there. Sweet Dreams of Paris is a dark comedy about fantasies and lies and the desire for a fresh start.
Received a workshop production in the Brown/Trinity New Plays Festival 2005. The director of the production was Birgitta Victorson.
I travelled via bus around Central Asia in 1995, ultimately taking a boat across the Caspian Sea from Turkmenistan to Azerbaijan, then making my way to Istanbul, Turkey and Sofia, Bulgaria, places where I knew people. The area popped back into my mind in 2004, when I started this play while up at Brown University. The area is still on my mind. I did a bunch of research for a character who talks about The Hippie Trail in Loop Tape, have aspirations of writing a play (or screenplay?) about it soon.
