2013 was a busy year. Among my activities:
-A production of This is My Office, my off-Broadway debut, with The Play Company, perhaps the most personally and artistically satisfying endeavor of my career.
-A production of my co-translation with Kyoko Yoshida of Shu Matsui’s Proud Son, directed by Desdemona Chiang at Ohio Northern University
-Readings and workshops in New York and Minneapolis of The Dowager.
-Readings/workshops in New York and Pittsburgh of Don’t You Fucking Say a Word.
-A revision of the thriller A State of Nature for Open Window Films.
-The second semester of a year long gig as Visiting Professor of Theater at Franklin and Marshall College.
2014 is still taking shape, but projects include:
-Further development of The Dowager with director Erik Pearson, and actress Florencia Lozano, including a workshop and reading this January at New Dramatists.
-A CD release and further concert presentations of Mobro, my most recent collaboration with John Ellis.
-A couple of new plays, just started.
-Further work in the TV/film world.
-I’ll be teaching a playwriting course at Barnard College this spring.
I’m looking forward to a year of new discoveries and new collaborations!
